Lemon Split ("we", "us", "the app") helps you split expenses with friends and settle up. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email support@theusecase.in.

Information we collect

• Account details — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture URL, and Google account ID.
• Your content — the groups, expenses, splits, settlements, categories, group names/icons, and currency you create in the app.
• People you invite — the names and email addresses you enter (or save to your in-app contacts) to invite friends to a group.
• Notification token — a device push token so we can send you expense notifications.
• Usage analytics — via Google Firebase Analytics we collect app activity (e.g. screens viewed and key actions like creating a group or adding an expense) and device/other identifiers, including your device's advertising ID. This is used only to understand usage and improve the app.

Payments

Lemon Split Pro is an optional purchase made on our website and processed by Razorpay. We never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank details — Razorpay handles the payment. We only store a record that your account has Pro, tied to your user ID.

How your information is stored

Your account and content are stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS in the Mumbai, India region). Analytics and push notifications are provided by Google Firebase. Payment processing is provided by Razorpay. These providers process data on our behalf to run the service.

Data retention

Groups on the free plan are automatically deleted after 5 months of inactivity (no new expenses or settlements) — including that group's expenses, balances and settlement history. This keeps stale data from lingering. Lemon Split Pro accounts keep their groups indefinitely.

Your contacts (your saved address book) are kept until you remove them or delete your account, and are never affected by group deletion. You can also delete any group yourself at any time in the app.

How we use your information

• To provide the core service — creating groups, tracking expenses, calculating balances, and settling up.
• To send you notifications about activity in your groups.
• To understand usage and improve the app (analytics).
• To provide and honour Lemon Split Pro.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data you add to a group is visible only to the members of that group. We share data only with the service providers listed above, strictly to operate the app, and as required by law.

What we do NOT access

Lemon Split does not access your camera, photos, contacts (from your device), or location. The app shows no advertising.

Your choices & rights

• Delete everything — you can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time, right in the app: Profile → Delete account.
• Access or correct — most of your data is editable in the app; for anything else, contact us.
• You can archive a settled group to keep a read-only summary.

Children

Lemon Split is not directed to children under the age required by your local law, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above.
